I discovered a Secret to why some YouTubers go from 0 to 1000 while others are struggling with only 300 subscribers after wasting a year. If you don’t want to waste months growing your subscriber-ship, read this to save yourself time! Using some science and statistics, I put to the test and researched on YouTubers that started beginner channels, and this is how they go from 0 to 1000 on a beginner Youtube Channel! Many YouTubers learnt from their beginner mistakes, when their channel did not grow at all. And this is what most of them learnt.
Did you know that 70% of the 1 Billion Hours of Video audience watch on YouTube DAILY is decided by one person (just kidding), by YouTube Algorithm. So even if you are not looking to grow. your channel, and is doing YouTube as part of your branding, you still need subscribers to increase watch hours.
Learn and Follow – They have all connected and watched relatively successful YouTubers over and over again. Channels with subscribers below 300k are the best at giving you advice. You don’t want to be watching channels that have millions of subscribers because a mature well developed channels have strategies that a beginner may find it impossible to follow. Yes, if you are at below x number of subscribers, you can benefit a lot from learning from Small Youtubers. So you want to find channels that are just starting to grow from 0 to 3000 subscribers and see what they are doing right. Dissect their videos and watch it over again, to see what they have intentionally put into their videos.
Your Set-up Many beginner YouTuber, wasted a lot of time using wrong equipment, wrong set-up and items that are not suited. You don’t have to necessary use expensive equipment, but YouTubers know how much time is spent with really annoying equipment. You want your equipment to help you. Making videos can be fun, enjoyable but also equally stressful, so you don’t want equipment to harass you and zap energy from you. For example, it took one YouTuber 3 months to get tripod right.
Draw Inspiration from these channels, not necessary copy and give your channel a personality that is uniquely you.
Basics – whether you are doing product testing or lifestyle or how to make money online, you want to be doing some basic videos on beginner level skillsets. For example, what is off-the-grid living and do an introduction. Other channels on different topics can include -how to start a wordpress blog, how to start a youtube account. What is Google Adsense (I will cover this in another blog post). The bare minimum basics will help starters to follow your video.
Select your topic – what is the topic you want to focus and concentrate on? This is because starting a Youtube Channel or any platform requires a lot of effort, passion and work. Focus allows expansion and overflow of good ideas. A good focus will also help the YouTube Manager to understand your channel better and rank you up. I have another post on YouTube Manager, your boss, the Algorithm coming up to talk about math and statistics on how to appear in search.
Video Editing – Understand what your viewer attention is. Different audience follow channels for different channels, so people stay watching your video longer for all kinds of different reasons. Understand why audience stay or drop off is very important to helping you grow. This is because Your YouTube Manager, Mr. Algo (the Algorithm), will rank you according to how relevant you are to Youtube audience. Are you sitting and talking non-stop? What is your tone of voice? The less drop-offs the better. Find out from your friends or family or audience when they walk away or start looking at their phone. Get feedback and go back, change that part of the video. Learn to video edit and make your video engaging. Audience engagement is one of your performance indicator.
YouTube Thumbnails – Create thumbnail that attracts attention and one that people want to click through. However make sure it is not just a clickbait, meaning what you propose to have on your thumbnail should also be in your video. Click Attractive Thumbnails means you get more clicks, you get more clicks, you get to start to be popular. Do NOT let YouTube pick your thumbnail, those are terrible, and nobody want to click on a thumbnail that is not attractive. Do your thumbnail and your effort will be rewarded.
Video Title – Format your title. Successful YouTubers format their titles in CAPS and place all other details about what their video is in detail. Include Keywords. Find out what are KEYWords by researching on Google and check number of search or auto complete. Check keywords by watching other youtube videos. Explain what your channel is, and what your video is about.
Support – Remember you have many fans, stick to your gut and you will be supported by fellow YouTubers and others in the group.
If you get the above right, you can possibly avoid a lot of the time wasting mistakes many have made, and go from 0 TO 1000 SUBSCRIBERS ON YOUTUBE in 2020.
Good Luck and thank you for visiting this page. Keep Grinding, you will get there.
